A city that keeps its secrets well
And we are right in the middle of them
Ronda does not reveal itself all at once. It asks for time, leisurely strolls through cobblestone streets, pausing at the edge of the Tajo gorge as the light changes. El Progreso Apartments are located right in the center of this city, a privileged location that turns every morning into an invitation and every evening into a return to a place that feels like home. The most emblematic monuments, the best tapas bars, the craft shops, and the secluded squares are just a step away. No transfers. No maps. You just have to go outside and let Ronda take care of the rest.
New Bridge of Ronda
The bridge that defies gravity
Built over the El Tajo gorge in the 18th century, the Puente Nuevo is the most emblematic silhouette of Ronda. Situated 98 meters above the Guadalevín River, it connects the old Arab medina with the modern city. Approaching it at sunset, when the stone takes on an amber tone and the shadows grow deeper in the gorge, is one of those moments that remain in memory long after leaving.
La Ciudad — The Arab quarter of Ronda
Where centuries are captured in stone
On the south side of the gorge is La Ciudad, the ancient Moorish heart of Ronda. Narrow alleyways, whitewashed walls, Arab baths, and the remnants of a medina that once thrived under the rule of Al-Andalus. The Arab Baths, among the best-preserved in Spain, and the Mondragón Palace speak of a past full of nuances that reward those who wander without a fixed plan.
Ronda Bullring
The oldest bullring in Spain. A temple of the ritual.
Founded in 1785 and home to the Goyesque bullfights, the Plaza De Toros de Ronda is one of the most beautiful and historically significant bullrings in the country. Whether you immerse yourself in the tradition or simply appreciate the architecture, the circular galleries with columns and the adjoining museum offer an intimate encounter with a Spain that is both celebrated and controversial.
Serranía de Ronda
Beyond the city walls, the landscape takes center stage
The mountains surrounding Ronda are as spectacular as the city itself. The Serranía is a landscape of cork oak forests, white villages, secluded valleys, and ancient trails that have been walked for millennia. Villages such as Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra, and Jimena de la Frontera are within short distance and each has its own character. The road itself is part of the experience.
How to get there
